EEI Ranked as #21 out of 100 in Crain's 2023 Best Places to Work in Chicago

Engineering Enterprises, Inc. (EEI) has been ranked #21 out of the top 100 companies on the 2023 Best Places to Work in Chicago list.

The winner’s rankings were revealed at a luncheon on Wed., September 13th at the InterContinental Chicago. Best Places to Work in Chicago is an annual regional program sponsored by Crain’s Chicago Business. The program, which began in 2008, is designed to honor the top 100 companies that have excelled in creating great workplaces, considering everything from workplace comforts to benefits and culture. The full rankings will be featured in the September 18th print issue of Crain’s Chicago Business and can be found here: ChicagoBusiness.com/BPTW2023.

The awards program is designed to identify, recognize, and honor the 100 best companies to work for in the Chicago area. In partnership with Best Companies Group, Crain’s surveyed thousands of employees and their employers on the working conditions, benefits, and corporate culture that make a company a great place to work. Winners were determined by the results of Best Companies Group’s weighted surveys. To be considered for participation, companies had to:

  • Be a publicly or privately held business, either for-profit or nonprofit.
  • Have a facility in the Chicago area, including the counties of Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry, and Will in Illinois and Lake in Indiana.
  • Have a minimum of 25 full-time or part-time employees.

Determining the Best Places to Work in Chicago involved a two-step process. The first consisted of evaluating each company’s workplace policies, practices, and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second consisted of employee surveys to assess their experiences and attitudes. This part was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. Best Companies Group managed the registration and survey process and analyzed the data, using its expertise to determine the final ranking.

“We are extremely honored to receive this recognition that highlights our exceptional staff and our culture here at EEI,” says Brad Sanderson, PE, Chief Operating Officer / President at EEI, “We believe that creating a positive and supportive workplace culture is essential to our success. This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of each member of our team. We will continue to strive for excellence in everything we do and maintain our commitment to fostering a workplace that values collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity.”
