USEPA Announces Finalized National Primary Drinking Water Regulation (April 2024)
On April 10, 2024, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced the finalized national primary drinking water regulation for the same six PFAS species originally proposed to be regulated under the draft rule which was released in March 2023. USGS Releases Report (October 2023)
Recently, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) released a report titled “Statewide Sampling to Determine Spatial Distribution, Prevalence, and Occurrence of Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) in Illinois Community Water Supplies.” EEI published a summary of key findings in the USGS report.

USEPA Announces a Proposed Regulatory Notification (March 2023)
On March 14, 2023, EPA announced the proposed National Primary Drinking Water Regulation (NPDWR) for six PFAS including PFOA, PFOS, PFNA, HFPO-DA, PFHxS, and PFBS. EEI published a Regulatory Notification to summarize the proposed regulation. Learn More on the USEPA’s Website.
