Chief Financial Officer / Vice President

Michele L. Piotrowski, PE, LEED AP

Michele Piotrowski is a Vice President with more than 28 years of engineering experience focused on municipal water and wastewater systems. Throughout her career, she has led the planning, design, maintenance, and construction of complex infrastructure projects, including new and rehabilitated water towers, water mains, pump stations, pressure-reducing valve stations, lift stations, sewer systems, and utility rate studies. Her extensive expertise in hydraulic analysis for water distribution and supply provides a strong technical foundation for the water systems and utility programs she oversees.

Michele holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from The Catholic University of America and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, combining deep technical knowledge with strategic and financial acumen.

She is highly active in the Illinois Section of the American Water Works Association (ISAWWA) and currently serves as Chair, providing leadership and direction for the organization. In addition, she is a Water Loss Trainer, participates in ISAWWA scholarship awards, and plays an active role on both the Integrated Water Management Committee and the Professional Advancement Committee. Through these roles, Michele is committed to advancing the water profession, mentoring future leaders, and promoting best practices in utility management.

In 1974, James K. Michels, late founder, opened the doors of EEI in Elburn, Illinois with four employees. The business plan then, as it is now, was to provide civil engineering services to public and private sector clients in northern Illinois.
