BUSSE AND OAKTON ELEVATED WATER STORAGE TANK

BUSSE AND OAKTON ELEVATED WATER STORAGE TANK

City of Elk Grove Village, Illinois

Project consisted of design and construction of a new 0.5 MG spheroidal elevated water storage tank, water main, access drive, storm sewer and underground detention facility. This tank was constructed in an area being redeveloped area with existing buildings on three sides of the site and required significant coordination with adjacent owners as well as complex stormwater analysis to adhere to the requirements of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD).

Following the completion of the new elevated water storage tank, the previous, 500,000 gallon multi-legged water storage tank, built in 1964, was demolished. The project consisted of removing the existing pump house and telecommunication building structures, disconnection and abandonment of all utilities, and restoration. The project included design engineering, permitting, telecommunication coordination, bidding, and construction observation and documentation, quality assurance, pay estimates, and contract management.
